Hotel Artemide - Rome

Welcome to our review of the Hotel Artemide in historic Rome. This 4 star hotel is located in the centre of Rome at Via Nazionale and is perfectly located for your weekend trip in Rome. We chose Hotel Artemide for our weekend trip because it was centrally located and the perfect hub for our little Rome adventure. In this review of Hotel Artemide, we will describe our experience at this location and help you decide if this Hotel might be the perfect pick for your trip.

Hotel Artemide Location

From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that Hotel Artemide is not your usual hotel. The lobby has a mix of classic Roman elegance and sleek modern design. Located at one of the oldest and most important streets of Rome, Hotel Artemide offers the perfect options for a weekend trip in Rome. It is like a Swiss Army knife of hotel locations. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps are all just a leisurely stroll away. Via Nazionale offers a lot of shopping opportunities too from high-end boutiques to small stores. There is something for everybody! Maybe you will even find other stores or art galleries which is always a surprise. If you are not the walking type, there is the Metro only couple meters away.

Check-In & Service

As soon as we stepped in we were greeted by the staff. “Buoana sera!” (we checked-in in the evening) The staff were extremely friendly and helped making us feel welcomed. The check-in process was very smooth and informative. We received welcome drinks at the rooftop bar, a voucher for the in-house spa and a map with some location guides and assistance. One member of the staff even accompanied us to our room. Everybody was friendly and tried to make us feel as welcomed as possible.

Our Comfort Room

Now let's talk rooms. There are 5 different type of rooms that Hotel Artemide offers. The cheapest and smallest is the basic double room. Then there is a deluxe room, which is way bigger and offers room for 3 persons. Next to that you also have the opportunity to get a Junior suite or a Honeymoon Suite which is the most expensive option they offer. We opted to book the comfort room which is between the basic double room and deluxe room. Since Deluxe was too much for our weekend stay we decided to try out the comfort room.

The room itself was cozy with a comfortable bed and pillows. It wasn’t the prettiest room and most luxurious one. The bed felt very comfortable and the bedside lamps on the nightstand offered enough light for reading or some ambience. The rooms come with a smart TV ensuring that you can watch your favorite shows on the road. Keep in mind that the pillows are harder than your usual hotel pillows. We didn’t like the natural light situation in our room though. There were windows but our room didn’t have the best view. Good for sleeping but not so great if you play a longer stay in the room.

The bathroom was magnificent! It comes with a rain shower that feels like a gentle cascade from the heavens. The hotel also provides an array of luxurious toiletries, fluffy towels and robes that make every shower feel like a spa experience. All the products we used were from Acqua Dell’ Elba which offered high quality and an overall great product line.

The Minibar

Our treasures on our trip

Amenities & Free Drink

When you travel a lot you see a fair share of hotels, rooms and their minibar. Sometimes you find some treasures in there! At Hotel Artemide all the drinks and snacks in the minibar are completely free of charge. The best part is after you indulge in drinks it gets replenished daily.

Hotel Artemide Spa

The Artemis Spa was a highlight. It offers a Finnish Sauna, a Turkish bath and a Frigidarium. Furthermore there is a large hot tub that has enough room for up to 8 people. If you like an individual massage or a couples massage you can have that too. We opted for a massage which was relaxing. The spa also has a relaxation area, where you can just lay down, listen to some music and rest. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take any pictures of the Spa area (as you can imagine), we recommend looking at the pictures posted by Artemide to get a feel how the Spa looks.

Access to the Spa is included for all guests. We are not sure if all guest also get this, but at our check-in we got a voucher for the Spa treatments which was appreciated.

Breakfast & Dining Option

Breakfast is apparently the most important meal in the day. Let’s talk about breakfast at Hotel Artemide, which is something to remember! The moment you step in you are greeted by one of the staff members. First things first you get an Italian coffee. The buffet is like a love letter to Italian cuisine with a global twist. Fresh baked bread, crusty ciabatta a selection of local jams and honey. The pastries… oh the pastries! There is so much variation but it’s not just about the carbs, right? The cheese and charcuterie selection is a showcase of Italys finest. Gourmet cheese that melts in your mouth and cured meats. For those who prefer a heartier start, there is a hot section serving classics like scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon, all cooked to perfection.

Let’s not forget the fruits and yogurts. A vibrant array of seasonal fruits and creamy yogurts that add a fresh, light touch to the breakfast. Further, there is a selection of cereals, nuts and seeds to kickstart your day. The service, much like the rest of Hotel Artemide, is impeccable. The staff are attentive, friendly and always ready to go the extra mile to make your breakfast experience memorable. Whether you need another Cappuccino or some tips for the day, they’ve got you covered.

*On our trip we didn’t dine at the Rooftop Restaurant because it was fully booked so we can’t talk about the food there. However, one tip we can give is that you ask the Hotel to make a reservation for you if you want to dine there.

Conclusion

All in all we liked our stay at Hotel Artemide the location was just perfect for our trip. There aren’t much Hotels left that are this centrally located in Rome. Also we want to highlight the staff at Hotel Artemide. They were all very helpful and tried the best to make the guest feel comfortable and just enjoy the stay. You get recommendations for restaurants or you can just chat with them about the weather, they always greet you with a smile. Another highlight for us was the Breakfast, with its large variation and tasty treats from the Italian cuisine. The only negative was our room, which wasn’t the most modern and didn’t offer the best light situation. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Artemide and can recommend you this Hotel for your next Rome stay.
